Founder’s Story
Just Smile was born from a journey of love, pain, faith, and legacy.
I am Rosemary Sherrod, and this mission began long before it had a name. During my son Qevonte’s cancer journey, we often talked about writing a book together one day. We wanted to help others through the pain we were enduring. We knew our story held heartbreak, but we also believed it held meaning, hope, and something that could encourage other families facing dark times.
As the years went on, our journey became even heavier. After a doctor told Qevonte he had six months to live, we sat quietly together in his hospital room, holding the weight of that moment. In that silence, I asked him what he wanted people to take from his story. I asked him what he wanted his website to be called, because at the time he wanted to start a website and blog.
His answer was simple, but powerful.
He said, “Just Smile.”
He said he wanted people to know that they could choose to be positive and just smile through the pain.
That moment never left me.
